COOWN — A company for the common man.

The Problem

Businesses are growing. Are people’s experiences improving with them?

Many businesses serve people well. This is not a story about villains — it is a question about leverage, value and who a business is built to serve.

  1. Alone, people have little leverage.

Most of us make our decisions one at a time, on our own, with suppliers who deal with thousands of people like us. Individually there is rarely much room to ask for better terms. Together, the picture can change.

  2. Value is more than a low price.

A good outcome is also about the quality of the product, how clearly it was explained, whether the service holds up afterwards and how the whole experience felt. Price is one part of value — not the whole of it.

  3. Structure shapes experience.

How a business is organised, and what it is rewarded for, influences how it treats the people it serves. When incentives and customers’ interests point the same way, experiences tend to be better.

COOWN’s approach

Better experiences, designed in — together.

COOWN aims to improve consumer experiences through collective participation, service design and responsible business practices. We cannot promise a better outcome in every service — what we can do is be clear about what we offer, what it costs and what it is not.

  • Collective participation

People coming together so that their shared needs are visible — and heard.

  • Service design

Services shaped around what people actually need, explained plainly.

  • Responsible business practices

Working with suppliers fairly, and being clear about what is and isn’t on offer.
